Each year, approximately 3500 babies die suddenly and unexpectedly in their sleep before reaching their first birthday. This is our family's reality: On Wednesday, August 24, our healthy, beautiful, thriving baby boy, Toby, went down for his afternoon nap and did not wake up. Since 2016 our family has worked to keep Toby's memory alive by promoting Safe Sleep Practices and talking about SIDS and grief. 

It is through our grief that we were connected with Healing Hearts, which is the Cribs for Kids' SIDS grief support group. We quickly learned of this national organizations mission, located right here in Pittsburgh, and believed that we could help promote their mission, in Toby's memory. 

The Virtual Breath of Life Stroll is a fundraiser to support Cribs for Kids’ mission of helping every baby sleep safer. Cribs for Kids provides no-cost safe cribs to families in need of a safe sleep environment for their baby, as well as safe sleep education and guidance on creating an effective, safe sleep plan.

We are participating in the Breath of Life Stroll for the second year as 'Team Toby' because this cause is so important to us. 

We have a goal to raise $3,000 throughout the month of October, which will help Cribs for Kids reach their goal of raising $70,000 from this 2021 event.
